room for these first four nights and we ask that as we consider going to the next meeting place tomorrow, that you would make things go smoothly for all of us, take us there in timely fashion. As we begin to open your Word tonight and study your Word, we ask that you'd guide and direct through the presence of your Holy Spirit and your holy angels. We ask that you'd send them to this room at this time, that you'd prevent the distractions from taking our thoughts and considerations away from what you have for us. I ask that you would overrule any thoughts and ideas that I may have as a human being and let me be hid behind your cross, that you can speak to us this evening and I ask that you'd open the hearts and minds of my brothers and sisters here too to hear your voice and whatever you would have for us. We ask that you'd pour your light and rain out upon us at this time, in Jesus' name, Amen. We started by looking at Joel and identifying that Joel is fulfilled in the time of Pentecost, in the time of the Millerites and here at the end of the world in the time of the latter rain. And then we... is that where we started? We didn't start with Joel, did we? We started with the everlasting gospel, all right? All right, we started with the everlasting gospel, then we went to Joel and then we looked at some illustrations last night where Sister White refers to these three histories, which are histories where Joel is fulfilled. And now I want to take some time and look at the history of the Millerites, which is the fulfillment of Joel, where the everlasting gospel was accomplished. Last night's notes, we had two or three references where Sister White connects the cleansing of the temple and the three-step testing process of Revelation 14 with the fulfillment of the parable of the ten virgins. And the production of the wise and foolish virgins is a fulfillment of the everlasting gospel. So I want to... don't be scared by all the notes. These notes, we're not going to deal with them like we've been doing in the last few nights. I'm going to walk through the Millerite history and I have the notes here just to... as a point of reference. The first quote on page one where it says 1798, the time of the end, that's Uriah Smith. I like that quote because he expresses the correct pioneer understanding that the first angel of Revelation 14 arrived in history in 1798, but the angel of Revelation 10 that came down out of down out of heaven is also the first angel. And he came down out of heaven in 1840. We read quotes last night. If you have your notes, there was at least two quotes in there. There are others in the Spirit of Prophecy where Sister White says the angels represent the work that is accomplished by God's people. And the first angel arrived in 1798 at the time of the end when the book of Daniel was unsealed and there was a work that began. And the work at that time was that there was going to be an unsealing of the book of Daniel and God's students of prophecy from that history were to run to and fro in his word. That was their work in order to understand the increase of knowledge. Then in 1840, that message that had been understood from 1798 and onward was empowered with the confirmation of the year-day principle of Bible prophecy. And so this first quote by Uriah Smith is a good one for recognizing that the pioneers marked that the first angel of Revelation 14 and the angel of Revelation 10 are the same angel. And then we have a quote here about the book of Daniel being unsealed from sermons and talks. And then we have Daniel 12 verses 4 and 10 identifying that the increase of knowledge that is produced when the book of Daniel is unsealed is what produces two classes of worshipers. So what I'm going to do here is mark this history out for us to begin with. 1798, the time of the end the first angel's message arrives. There's an increase of knowledge at this point and this increase of knowledge is going to test that generation. This is the beginning of the everlasting gospel in this generation. The Millerites proclaim the first angel's message which is identified as the everlasting gospel but they also experienced it by the time they get to the end of this history. Two classes of worshipers have been demonstrated on October 22nd 1844. The everlasting gospel has been proclaimed and it has been experienced. I wouldn't argue if you want to put William Miller, there's different points in his history where you may want to mark him as far as being the person that the Lord used to put the message into an understandable package. I choose 1833. You have that quote there from the great controversy. It says in 1833, two years after Miller began to present in public the evidences of Christ's soon coming, the last of the signs appeared which were promised by the Savior as tokens of the second advent. So you have the falling of the stars and what we're saying about 1833 is that this increase of knowledge here that came into history in 1798, it was destined to test this generation. But in order for the Lord to hold that generation accountable, the increase of knowledge had to be understood well enough and then put into a presentation where the Lord could hold that generation accountable for how they responded to the message. So he used William Miller to gather these rays of light together and formalize the truths that are on this chart because the Lord is going to hold this generation accountable for that message. And of course this happens in every reform movement. The Lord formalizes the message for that generation. Then on August 11th 1840 you see from great controversy that the Ottoman Empire comes to a conclusion and the year-day principle of Bible prophecy is confirmed. You have that in your notes. As I said we're not going to read through these but this may be new for some of you but I know I know some of you well enough to know that we went through these things before but we're putting it in the record before we get to the conclusion here tonight. You'll notice that on page two when she talked about 1840 to 1844 this is the history where the this being 1844 where the two temple cleansings of the Millerite history take place. This is the Lord is manifesting his power right from the beginning in 1798 but when the angel comes down the angel of Revelation 10 on August 11th 1840 with the confirmation of the year-day principle the message that Miller and the Millerites have been proclaiming about the end of the world is now recognized as being valid because they were basing that prediction upon the year-day principle and suddenly this generation is being tested by this message and by June of 1842 the Protestants of the United States began to close their doors. They failed the test and here with the closing of the door here the first temple cleansing of this history and we dealt with this last night if you weren't here it was accomplished and then here in the summer of 1844 when the midnight cry is poured out divinity flashes through humanity a second time and the second temple cleansing takes place among the Millerites and it concludes when the door closes in 1844. You have a quote there from Joseph Bates under May of 1842 that the foundations are established every all the reform movements have the same characteristics this is the 1843 chart it's in the this is where the first angel's message is empowered this is the arrival of the second angel's message the second angel's message is empowered it down here at the midnight cry all the messages first arrive in history and then they're thereafter empowered first angel's message arrives in 1798 it's empowered in 1840 second angel's message arrives in 1842 it's empowered at the midnight cry Exeter camp meeting August 12th through 17th 1844 the third angel's message arrives on October 22nd 1844 and it's empowered when the fourth angel of Revelation 18 joins with it one of the characteristics of all the messages is that they are marked in history in terms of when they arrive and it's marked in history when they're empowered in in this history here on any reform line it's in the history of this way mark right here in the first way mark that the foundations are laid okay this history here is the end of the 2300 year prophecy the 2300 year prophecy ends right here on the third decree and at the beginning of the 2300 year prophecy you have three decrees and between the first and the second decree that's when the foundation of the temple was built okay the Bible says so spirit of prophecy says so history says so it's in here that the foundations are always established okay so this chart being printed and that's what Joseph Bates is saying in 1842 or in May of 1842 is marking it's a way mark of when the foundations are established in this history this is not the quote unfortunately there's another nice quote and I didn't put it in here where they're talking about the production of this chart and what's nice to note outside the scope of this study but at the same time they voted to make this chart they also in the same meeting decided to hold their first camp meeting the very first camp meeting was planned at the very meeting where they voted to make 300 of these charts and that's that's worth noting because the Lord knew what was about to happen when this chart arrives in history this is what pushes the Protestants over the edge and forces them to resist the message and they closed the door of their churches and God foresaw this and they had already planned the camp meetings before they were closed out of the churches but this and there's a quote that says that nicely by Bates and I don't have it in here okay so they produce this chart you have the classic quote on this chart from early writings directed by the hand of the Lord it should not be altered it's based upon Habakkuk 2 verses 1 through 4 and Ezekiel 12 we can go to Habakkuk 2 and I'm assuming that most of this here for most of us maybe not all of us is review and that's how I'm relating to this the first part of this presentation that I want to try to move rather quickly and get to the end Habakkuk 2 verse 1 says I will stand upon my watch and set me upon the tower and will watch to see what he will say unto me and what I shall answer when I'm reproved we dealt with this already this word reproved argue with the Millerites here are portrayed in verse 1 as listening to see what the Lord tells them to say in the controversy of their history and verse 2 is the Lord's answer and it says and the Lord answered me and said write the vision and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it that's what produces this chart when this chart is produced then you can run with it and the people that run with it that's Daniel 12 3 and 4 many shall run to and fro in God's Word and knowledge shall be increased okay and Amos you have this in your notes Amos 8 11 and 12 will show you that running to and fro is running to and fro in God's Word in the next quote this is William Miller under removing the if everyone with me on page 3 removing the if if you read and when you read this I'm not going to read it to you where you see the if in this passage it's in capital letters you see the the sentence in the in the middle it's boldface it said in 1844 some of my brethren preached with great positiveness the exact year okay 1842 and censured me for putting in an if William Miller is the one that puts those in capital letters not me that's his emphasis and if you read this he's saying in 1842 in this history here the rest of the Millerite preachers said to William Miller quit being so vague about 1843 because if you read it he'll say I never preached 1843 with positiveness I said my calculations may be a little bit off it may come a little bit before maybe come a little bit after says you can go read all my writings I never said 1843 with great positiveness but in 1842 the other preacher said William Miller take the if out of your presentations because now they're using this chart and then you'll see in this quote from this point on is where the Protestants turn against him it's the introduction of this chart that unites them to be very dogmatic about 1843 that closes the door okay and then you have the quote from testimonies volume 1 page 21 in June of 1842 Mr. Miller gave a second course of lectures at the Casco Street Church in Portland with few exceptions the different denominations closed their door the doors of their churches against Mr. Miller first temple cleansing is concluding March 22nd 1844 the year 1843 is over it ended on March 21st 1844 March 22nd 1844 was the first day of the year of 1844 when they got to March 22nd 1844 the first disappointment arrived and this introduces the seventh month movement okay because March 22nd the beginning of the year and seven months later it's what October was 22nd 1844 okay just a quote from sister white it's in the summer of 1844 the second angel's message is proclaimed when the second angel's message arrived they didn't recognize it as the second angel's message in 1842 when the churches began to close their doors against them they didn't instantaneously say Babylon has fallen you need to come out of the churches it's not until down here in this history that they they struggle with it when they first start realizing it from God's Word no one really wants to say it and finally Fitch Fitch was the first one to say it and once Fitch said it you know the the churches are Babylon come out from them then they all just said got on board and the call to come out of Babylon was underway same here in 1798 when the first angel's message arrived no one knew at that point in time what the first angel's message was it's afterwards that it gets formalized and understood same with the third angel's message when October 22nd 1844 arrives the third angel's message has arrived because now you follow Christ into the most holy place you can see the Ark of the Testament you can see the Ten Commandments and you can see the Sabbath and once you see the Sabbath and you can see the implications of Sabbath and Sunday in the third angel's message but they didn't understand that on October 23rd 1844 took a while when the messages arrived there afterwards understood second angel's message is understood down here in the summer of 1844 sister White says the second angel's message was proclaimed and it closed the second angel's message closed on October 22nd 1844 now under prophetic angels we read these last night the same two quotes angels represent the work that God's people do okay first second third angel's message the history of the Millerites is the history of the first and second angel's message that history ends when the third angel's message arrived and at one level the angels of Revelation 14 are representing the work that was accomplished in this history all right next page where it says connected the first and second angel's messages were given in 1843 and 1844 and we're now under the proclamation of the third but all three messages are still to be proclaimed it is just as essential now as ever before that they shall be repeated to those who are seeking for truth by pen and voice we are to sound the proclamation showing their order and the application of the prophecies that bring us to the third angel's message there cannot be a third without a first and a second this is an important point when you start discussing the messages if you if you can identify the second angel's message in a passage of scripture if and if you're correct about it then it's going to be preceded by a first and followed by a third and I mean that the three angels messages are all over the scriptures even though many men don't want to see them all right they're all over the scriptures when Balaam hired Balaam to curse Israel Balaam comes and he gives three messages three curses right they hired him to do curses but were they curses so what happened to Balaam he was disappointed right he wanted him to be curses so he sent him home but did did Balaam go home well he went home but not before he gave a fourth blessing three one combination throughout the scriptures you see the three one combination three three Hebrews in the fire in Daniel chapter 3 and sister White says that many many times that that represents the Sunday Law why wasn't Daniel there if Daniel would have been there it would have thrown off the combination because those three worthies go in the fire and then a fourth appears you know Noah and his three sons all over the scriptures you can see the three angels messages followed by the fourth angels message and what I'm saying is you can't separate one of them you're not going to find a second angels message sitting there all by itself if you truly find an illustration a type of the second angels message then you're going to find that it was preceded by a first and followed by a third and you have a couple another quote there the first and second angels messages are linked together you know if you have a chain here and you pick up one link all the other links come up with it can't be separated their tests the three angels messages are tests it's history here this is a testing process we've spent the first three nights here this week dealing with this I hope we see that it was a testing process for them and therefore it's a testing process for us and of course you have the two quotes we've read already a couple times that the third angel and the three angels the third angels work is to separate the wheat from the tares then what angels separate the wheat from the tares all three of them because you can't separate the first and the second from the third that's why this where it says the work of the angels there that both tares and wheat grow together until the harvest then it is that the angels do the work of separation it's those three angels and next quote she says I I then saw the third angel said my accompanying angel fearful is his work awful is his mission he is the angel that is to select the wheat from the tares and seal or bind the wheat for the heavenly garner in this history these three angels they separated the wheat from the tares in the Millerite history October 22nd 1844 forty nine thousand nine hundred and fifty tares were praying to Satan and fifty wheat moved into the most holy place with Christ this history is a history of a reform movement all the reform movements parallel one another okay we have a couple quotes at the end for that okay the quote we often use here at the bottom of the page the 1888 materials page 804 God has given the messages of Revelation 14 their place in the line of prophecy and their work is not to cease till the close of time the first and second angels message are still truth for this time and are to run parallel with this which follows okay so what we're saying is the third angels message at the end of the world it's going to parallel this history there will be a time in the end okay what we're going to look at tonight is there will be a time at the end of the world in this parallel history when a mighty angel comes down out of heaven that's Revelation 18 okay so what I'm saying is is what we're going to look at here tonight is that it's in this history here in all the reform lines when the foundations are laid all right in the reform we don't have time to go through but in this in this identical history in the story of Noah this is where he builds the template to build the Ark on all right in the story of Moses when he comes to the to the Hebrews the first thing he does is works a Sabbath reform and the message for this history is to tell Pharaoh out we're going to go out and worship and the foundation of true worship is the Sabbath Moses first lays the the foundation for his history Elijah repairs the altar right here foundational works always done here the foundation of the temple in the history of the three decrees is laid right here in the time of Christ John the Baptist sets forth the foundational message message in John in Matthew chapter 2 John the Baptist proclaims it the foundations of the Millerites on this chart right here so when we get to the end of the world in our day and age what we're saying is is it when this angel comes down in Revelation 18 this is marking when the Lord leads his people back to the old paths the foundational truths of Adventism and that's these two charts up here okay now so we're going to start on page six here we've read this once before but the 1843 chart the foundational truth says that the enemy is seeking to divert the minds of our brethren and sisters from the work of preparing a people to stand in these last days his prophecies are designed to lead minds away from the perils and duties of the hour they estimate of little value the light that Christ came from heaven to give to John for his people they teach that the scenes just before us are of are not of sufficient importance to receive special attention they make no of no effect the truth of heavenly origin and rob the people of God of their past experience giving them instead a false science thus sayeth the Lord stand you in the ways and see and ask for the old paths where is the good way and walk therein let none seek to tear away the foundations of our faith the foundations that were laid at the beginning of our work by prayerful study of the word and by revelation upon these foundations we have been building for more than 50 years and if you were here last night if you have the notes from last night when we were reading from early writings page 259 she calls these truths here the foundations and the platforms this is just another place where she's using the word foundation to identify these truths only in this passage she's identifying these foundational truths as the old paths of Jeremiah 6 16 but there's another important point here so I'm going to read a little bit further upon these foundations we've been building for more than 50 years men may suppose that they found a new way and that they can lay a stronger foundation than that which has been laid but this is a great deception other foundation can no man lay then that is laid so these truths on here what did she just say these truths were she says they're the old path and she says they're Jesus Christ because when the Bible says other foundation can no man lay than that is laid what's the Bible say what's the Bible give the definition of that foundation of Christ so she's she's marking these truths as a representation of Jesus Christ now notice the next quote it's upon the testimony of two things established the warning has come notice that it's a warning it's not just a casual inference the warning has come nothing is to be allowed to come in that will disturb the foundation of the faith upon which we've been building ever since the message came in 1863 it doesn't say 1863 doesn't say 1863 we're going to get to 1863 Lord willing all right every since the message came in 1842 1843 in 1844 I was in the message and ever since I've been standing before the world truth the light that God has given us we do not propose to take our feet off the platform here's the time where she's calling the foundation in the platform these truths once again but notice what she says take our feet off the platform on which they were places day by day we sought the Lord with earnest prayer seeking for light do you think I could give up the light that God has given me it is to be as what the Rock of Ages the truth on these charts are the foundation the only foundation that can be laid and they're the Rock of Ages upon two witnesses by the definition if you accept the authority of the spirit of prophecy the truth on this chart our representation of Jesus Christ so at the end of the world in this history when the mighty angel comes down the Lord is going to lead his people back to the old path okay back to these foundational truths and there's going to be a war in Adventism over it go to Jeremiah 6 16 thus sayeth the Lord stand you in the ways and see and ask for the old paths six verse 16 of Jeremiah 6 and ask for the old paths where's the good way and walk therein and you shall find rest for your souls but they said we will not walk therein there's the war also I set watchman over say over you saying hearken to the sound of the trumpet now we started here with one of our first quotes the first night that each of the ancient prophets spoke more for our day than the days in which they lived and then she quotes 1st Corinthians 10 11 so who's Jeremiah speaking about here the end of the world and in verse 17 it says also I set watchman over you there's watchman raised up at the end of the world according to Jeremiah and what's their message harken to the sound of the trumpet right what trumpet are we living in are we living in the time of the fourth trumpet or the fifth trumpet and what's what's the seventh trumpet hearken to the message of the third woe but they said we will not hearken okay and in verse 18 says therefore hear ye nations and know a congregation what is among them hero earth behold I will bring evil upon this people even the fruit of their thoughts because they have not hearkened unto my words nor to my law but rejected it to what purpose cometh to me the incense from Sheba and the sweet cane from a far country your burnt offerings are not acceptable nor your sacrifices sweet unto me therefore thus sayeth the Lord behold I will lay stumbling blocks before this people and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them and the neighbor and his friend shall perish okay there's a there's a separation going on here this is the everlasting gospel notice the next verse thus sayeth the Lord behold a people come from the north country and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth who's the people that comes from the north country this is the king of the north all right this is the history that the subject of the king of the north is one of the testing messages to the foundational truth the king of the north the third wall is all right here in Jeremiah 6 verses 16 and onward you're probably familiar with the quotes that follow here on on the bottom of page 6 the truth that we received in 1841 42 43 and 44 are now to be studied and proclaimed she says this chart should not be altered and then I'm on top of page 7 from early writings page 74 and the second quote under early writing 74 is from Spaulding McGann which is a parallel quote she says I saw that the truth should be made plain upon tables that the earth and the fullness thereof is the Lord's and that necessary means should not be spared to make it plain I saw that the old chart this one here I saw that the old chart was directed by the Lord and that not a figure of it should be altered except by inspiration okay in early writings it says that the figures were as he wanted them and that his hand was it and that it should not be altered but here she says except by an inspiration and then where you say where you see after the passing of time 1844 to 1846 if you read that from 1844 to 1846 this is where the phenomenon that they were studying the pillars they were trying to come to understand what the Sabbath and the sanctuary and the law of God and the third angels message was and they'd stay up late in the night studying these things out and when they couldn't arrive at a conclusion then and only then sister white would be taken off in vision and she would give them the light they needed to keep moving forward in establishing the pillars the pillars the Sabbath the third angels message the law of God they were established from 1844 to 1846 that's what this quote tells you here if you read it and then in 1850 she begins getting the messages to go ahead and make a new chart to correct the mistake the singular mistake that impacted the figures on this chart but before before it could be corrected they had to come to understand the pillars because the Lord wanted the pillars on this chart after 1846 the pillars are understood 1850 this chart is produced where it says 1850 and the second table and that's what Habakkuk calls them right right the vision to make it plain upon tables and the Lord's entering in covenant with modern Israel in this history right and he's given him two tables and when the Lord entered into covenant with ancient Israel he gave him two tables and the two tables that he gave to ancient Israel typified who Christ the law of God he Christ was the law of God and sister white tells us the truth on these charts typify who Christ so here we are at the end of the world and we insist that some of these truths are no longer valid and we haven't recognized the problem that the dilemma that is that at the beginning of ancient Israel the Lord gave ancient Israel two tables to mark his covenant isn't that what those two tables were called where were they kept in the Ark of what Ark of the Covenant okay and we know a Seventh-day Adventist that it's the spirit of the papacy that wants to tamper with those tables right but he gives two tables to modern Israel to mark that he's entering into covenant with them at the beginning of Adventism and here at the end of the world we have no problem tampering with these tables what spirit is that I mean we because we're not because we're not testing these things and seeing if they're so we're doing some really really scary things concerning these tables anyway 1850 in the second table on our return to brother Nichols the Lord gave me a vision and showed me that the truth must be played made plain upon tables this expression comes from Habakkuk okay and it would cause many to decide for the truth and of course you can just look up here this is the Nichols chart this is on our return to brothers Nichols next quote the 1850 chart is being executed in Boston God is in it brothers Nichol has charge of it and then in the bottom it says I saw that the that God was in the publishment of the chart by brother Nichols these are the only two charts that have the divine endorsement upon them there is no other chart that has been endorsed in this fashion I saw that God was in the publishment of the chart by brother Nichols I saw that there was a prophecy of this chart in the Bible of this chart but if this chart was designed for God's people if it's sufficient for one it is for another and if one needed a new chart printed on a larger scale I'll need it just as much I saw that the charts ordered by God and I stuck that in there the 1843 and 1850 in the context of the understanding of sister white these are the two charts that she says are the charts that are ordered of God okay next page there's some more quotes concerning the messages of this history 1840 to 44 I like the one on the top of the page God is not giving us a new message we are to proclaim the message that in 1843 and 1844 brought us out of the other churches and in 1842 they printed 300 of these charts and that the historians tell us there were 300 Millerite preachers and every one of those preachers use this chart exclusively this was the only message that was presented God is not giving us a new message we're to continue to present the things that brought us out of the other churches in 1843 and 1844 were to continue to present these truths even though we reject the understanding of the trumpets of the daily and therefore destroy the 1290 in the 1335 we reject the 2520 and if you're wrong on the daily whether you understand it or not you destroy the 2300 year prophecy so we stand here at the end of the world incapable of fulfilling this command if we really accept the authority of the spirit of prophecy God give visit bids us to give our time and strength to the work of preaching to the people the messages that stirred the men and women in 1843 and 1844 and underneath that you have Joseph Bates comment that tells you what the message was in 1843 and 1844 he says now our history shows that there are hundreds teaching from the same chronological chronological charts that William Miller was all of one stamp there's your historical confirmation they were all using this chart now that this next quote says all the messages given from 1840 to 44 are to be made forcible now it does not say some it says all and it as she continues on when you get to the last two sentences of the bottom that quote it says a message will soon be given by God's appointment that will swell into a loud cry brothers and sisters you cannot give the loud cry of the third angel's message if it isn't built upon the truth on these charts it's impossible according to the Bible and the spirit of prophecy can't be done so to be rejecting the truth on this chart whether you understand it or not is to be eliminating the possibility of you participating in the loud cry of the third angel those where we are here in Loma Linda this last quote under the third angel's message those who stand as teachers and leaders in our institutions are to be sound in the faith and principles of the third angel's message God wants his people to know that we have the message as he gave it to us in 1843 and 1844 and you got to think about that brothers and sisters the message you gave to us in 1843 and 1844 and and and I've had a discussion with Pruitt on this subject okay he told me that the messages that were given in this previous quote where it says all the messages of 1840 to 44 are to be made forcible now he says well that's the three angels messages and I said to him I responded I said well can you tell me where is it that the third angel's message was proclaimed in 1844 because it wasn't okay it arrived in 1844 but the third angel's message wasn't proclaimed in this history all right the the third angel's message came after October 22nd 1844 so they couldn't have been proclaiming the third angel's message it's these messages the point is here in this last quote she says if you're going to be sound in the principle of the third angel's message which is something that came beyond 1844 then you have to be basing it upon these truths okay these are the foundation the third angels come after you can't give the third angel's message if you're not standing on this platform unless unless there's been some tampering in the writings of Ellen White so what I'm saying is is in this history here this is where the foundational work comes in everyone follow the logic here I didn't put all the way marks I just want to deal with some foundations here tonight you already I want to deal with the foundational truth one of the foundational truth it's just a part of it it's it's so big brothers and sisters and I know most of you already know it's so big here the 2520 it's so big it's like it's like a monster you think that you got your hands around it and then there's something else in the Bible that pops up that just makes it even bigger it just keeps growing okay the 2520 it's just profound how much light is coming out of the 2520 and there's men out there saying oh no this isn't valid this is invalid okay let's go to Isaiah 7 and and I'm not going to try to to deal with every detail here I want to make some points about just some of the simple logic in connection with this message and how to do this the Bible chronologist tell us that Isaiah 7 took place in 742 all right if you have one of the King James Version Bibles that has the marginal reference of the dates for Isaiah 7 it will have 742 okay so in chapter 7 verse 1 of Isaiah it says and the point here is is I'm not right here dealing with William Miller identifying the seven times the 2520 and Leviticus 26 as is noted up here all right I'm not dealing with the duration the duration of the time prophecy is in Leviticus 25 and 26 but the starting point for these two time prophecies is given by Isaiah here in Isaiah 7 and the ending point for these two time prophecies is given in the book of Daniel three witnesses Isaiah Daniel and Moses to the validity of the 2520 and many other witnesses but we just want to look a little bit at Isaiah 7 and it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah that resin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Ramaliah king of Israel went up toward Jerusalem to war against it but could not prevail against it the northern kingdom of Israel formed an alliance with the country of Syria and they're going to attack Judah verse 2 and it was told the house of David the house of data David is Judah saying Syria is confederate with Ephraim Ephraim is the northern kingdom it's Israel and his heart was moved and the heart of his people as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind Judah only two tribes there's ten tribes in the north coming at it with Syria they're scared okay Judah's scared verse 3 then look the Lord said unto I pardon me then said the Lord unto Isaiah go forth now to meet a has thou and sure to shove thy son at the end of the conduit of the upper pool and the highway of the fullers filled and said to him take heed and be quiet fear not neither be fainthearted for the two tales of these smoking firebrens for the fierce anger of resin with Syria and the son of Ramaliah because Syria Ephraim and the son of Ramaliah have taken evil counsel against these saying let us go up against Judah and vex it and let us make a breach therein for us and set a king in the midst of it even the son of Tabeo let's say if the Lord God it shall not stand neither shall come to pass so Isaiah comes to a house and said don't worry about this this isn't going to take place and then in verse 8 it says for the head of Syria is Damascus and the head of Damascus is resin and within three score and five years shall Ephraim the northern kingdom be broken that it shall not be a people three score and five years is how many years 65 so we have 65 years here and when do the historians tell us that the northern kingdom was carried into captivity pardon me 19 years later in 723 the northern kingdoms carried into captivity and although Isaiah doesn't specifically say it 65 years later is the year 677 that's the year the Manassas carried into captivity okay there's no accident amazes me that people can read this and think that this could be just some kind of anomaly it's just an accident all right now this starts to 2520 against the northern kingdom all right and that ends in 1798 and halfway through of this 2520 and this may not be proportional but halfway through is 538 so this prophecy this prophecy gives us 1260 years that paganism tramples down the sanctuary in the host followed by 1260 years of when papalism tramples down the sanctuary in the host can't be an accident okay can't be an accident this 2520 against the southern kingdom beginning when Manassas carried into captivity it ends in 1844 right now I'm trusting that this is kind of review for all of us now go to page 9 I'm not so much gonna deal with the 2520 here as I'm going to try to counter some of the foolish arguments that are out there from early writings it says and on page 229 God sent his angel in a desire of ages and in the book of Revelation the spirit of prophecy and John tells us that his angel in the scriptures is Gabriel and in chapter 10 of Daniel Gabriel lets us know that there's no one that understands prophecy better than Gabriel other than Michael your prince and Gabriel is the the one that replaced Lucifer and Lucifer means lightbearer Gabriel took over the job of bringing light to mankind Gabriel brought the message of Daniel to Daniel and he brought the message of Revelation to John he's the the lightbearer okay and there's no no angel that understands prophecy better than Gabriel and that's what Gabriel says of himself in Daniel 10 I'm not reading that end to it but in the scriptures when you see his angel that's meaning Gabriel so when it says God sent his angel to move upon the heart of a farmer who had not believed the Bible to lead him to search the scriptures who came to William Miller the same angel that came to Daniel and John angels of God repeatedly visited that what chosen one to guide his mind and open to his understanding prophecies which had ever been dark to be got dark to God's people now this is sister white writing this and she says the commencement of the chain of truth was given him William Miller was given the commencement of the chain of truth by the angel Gabriel do you believe it do you accept the authority of the spirit of prophecy okay now notice this last sentence here God directed the mind of William Miller to the prophecies and gave him great light upon the book of Revelation brothers and sisters underline that gave him great light on the book of Revelation everyone know what the first beast of Revelation 13 is and the second beast of Revelation 13 what's the first beast of Revelation 13 papacy what's the second beast what did William Miller teach it was pagan Rome and papal Rome evidently William Miller wasn't given great light on Revelation 13 have you ever read what William Miller said about Revelation 17 it's not great light he couldn't see the end of the world Revelation 17 is about the end of the world William Miller had some flaws about Revelation 14 to he thought the hour of God's judgment was the end of the world okay and William Miller was correct on chapter 2 and 3 with the churches of Revelation but that wasn't any light that that he discovered that's old Christian Protestant understanding that he just inherited so when Sister White says William Miller was given great light upon the book of Revelation what light was he given he's given the commencement points but what light was he given brothers and sisters the light on Revelation that was great light that was given to William Miller was the seals and the trumpets so when we're standing here at the end of the world and we're willing to throw out his understanding of the trumpets Sister White says he was given great light on the book of Revelation and if you just read what he understands about Revelation it's the seals and the trumpets where he's airtight okay it wasn't it wasn't challenged by his belief that the world was coming to an end in 1844 anyway that's outside of what I want to make here the commencement is the point I want to make here's William Miller telling us what commencements he was given he no doubt did not know it was the angel Gabriel that gave it to him but he identifies for us what they were from a farther study of the scriptures I concluded that the seven times of Gentile supremacies must commence notice the word commence when the Jews ceased to be an independent nation at the captivity of Manasseh which the best chronologers assigned to 677 one of the dates that was given to William Miller was 677 the beginning of the 2520 against the southern kingdom and that the 2300 days commenced with the 70 weeks which the best chronologers dated from 457 and at the 1335 days commencing with the taking away of the daily and the setting up of the abomination that make it desolate were to be dated from the setting up of the papal supremacy after the taking away of the pagan abominations and which according to the best historians I could consult should be dated from AD 508 the three commencements that the angel Gabriel gave to William Miller were 677 508 and 457 so when we want to throw out the 2520 you're going against the the authority of the spirit of prophecy and the historical statement of William Miller and I don't know if you if you would remember it last night but I purposely got the group to agree to that the fact that in Malachi 3 when it says let's look at Malachi 3 keep your finger and now you don't have to keep your finger just go to Malachi 3 we're probably done with Isaiah Malachi 3 verse 1 says this behold I will send my messenger and he shall prepare the way before me and last night we said in the time of Christ that messenger was and in the time of the millwrights who was that messenger ah William Miller and last night everyone was in the role of the thought and you agreed to it okay William Miller it's just your wife compares him with John the Baptist compares him with Elijah compares him with Elisha compares him with Moses so his his testimony is in fact for another subjective argument how many inspired passages are there in the spirit of prophecy that sister white did not pin other than her Bible references only one that's William Miller's dream so when we're talking about William Miller and whether what and what I'm saying is how much confidence can we put on his testimony not only is he compared with all these prophets but where do we have anything that John the Baptist recorded in the sacred writ but we have writings from William Miller that are identified as inspired so there's a certain amount of confidence I think we should place in this testimony but up here on this chart right here 2nd Chronicles 33 11 it says wherefore the Lord brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria which took Manasseh among the thorns and bound him with fetters and carried him to Babylon okay the argument here is by the modern theologians is we can't start the beginning of this 2520 in 677 because Manasseh repented and his kingdom was restored to him and we're also told that sister white never endorses the 2520 but two nights ago we read the early writings where she clearly upholds the 2520 does she not okay but here notice what she says in prophets and kings page 382 about Manasseh she says faithfully the prophets continued their warnings and their exhortations fearlessly they spoke to Manasseh and to his people but the messages were scorned backsliding Judah would not heed as an earnest of what would befall the people should they continue impenitent the Lord permitted their king to be carried by a band of Assyrian soldiers and bound him with fetters and carried him to Babylon when Manasseh was carried to Babylon according to the authority of the spirit of prophecy it was an earnest on the next page you will have the definition of earnest from Webster's of sister rights day and age earnest is the first fruits that which is in advance and gives promise of something to come early fruit may be an earnest of fruit to follow the first success of arms may be an earnest of future success the Christians peace of mind in this life is an earnest of future peace and happiness hence the earnest or earnest money is the first payment or deposit giving promise or assurance of full payment hence the practice of giving an earnest to ratify a bargain the sense of this word is primary denoting that which goes before Manasseh is what the down payment on the 2520 when William Miller starts it there he starts it right at the right point in time and sister whites placing her endorsement on Jesus illustrates hand from the beginning let me show you this I know we're probably familiar with this but what what starts the 2300 year prophecy the third decree all right what ends it what's where's it in on the third message and on October 22nd 1844 brothers and sisters are you all familiar with Revelation 11 and in chapter 10 John's eaten the little book it's sweet in his mouth and then it turns bitter in his stomach and then what is he told to do you must prophesy again but then what he told what is he told to do rise and measure the temple and if you go through the scriptures when the temple is being measured well you don't have to go through the scriptures you can just use common sense what's it mean when you're measuring a building you're building it all right that's what this is this is a building process Jerusalem's Jerusalem in 1844 spiritual Jerusalem is being established it's being built okay the temple is being measured okay Jesus is illustrating the end of the 2300 days with the beginning that's why in patriarchs and prophets and kings sister white compares the 70 years captivity here in literal Babylon from literal Israel she compares it with the twelve hundred and sixty years of captivity of spiritual Israel in spiritual Babylon and they came out of literal Babylon on these three decrees and they came out of spiritual Babylon on these three decrees and they came out of spiritual Babylon on these three messages Jesus illustrates the end from the beginning what what marks the beginning of the 1260 year prophecy yeah that's the date but what marks this the removal of the third horn when the Goths are driven out of Rome right what marks the end when the Pope's carried out of Rome this prophecy starts when the rulers taken out of Rome and it ends when the rulers taken out of Rome right Jesus illustrates the end from the beginning what starts the 391 year 15 day time prophecy that's a 14 to whom here the a ruler surrenders his national sovereignty to the four Sultans starting this time prophecy what ends it when the last Sultan surrenders his national sovereignty to the four great European powers Jesus illustrates the end with the beginning how many times you have to show something to establish it okay that's three so notice under earnest the end from the beginning the Bible declares that before the coming of the Lord Satan will work with all powers and signs and lying wonders y'all with me and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness that they that receive not the love of the truth that they might be saved will be left to receive strong delusion that they should believe a lie not until this condition shall be reached and the union of church and state with the world shall be fully accomplished throughout Christendom will the fall of Babylon be complete the change is a progressive one and the perfect fulfillment of Revelation 14 8 is yet future in this history here from 1798 to 1844 what's going on let me show you something here this is the 1260 years so we're out to we see these 1260 years in the scriptures how about within story of Elijah wasn't there 1260 days of drought and then Elijah comes right here right the sister white say that that William Miller was Elijah yeah okay same story and what's the story of Elijah it's the story if one way you can identify this story is that Carmel first the prophets of Bell they had opportunity to do their work but then fire came out down out of heaven and what it was proving is who was the true prophet who was the true prophet okay it can the true God is the issue but the people could see that the prophets of Bell were the false prophet and Elijah was the true prophet and this is getting repeated in the history of the Millerites in 1798 there's a message that comes and by 1844 by 1842 actually apostate Protestantism had rejected the message of the hour and when the midnight cry came down upon the offering in 1844 everyone that wanted to see could see the Millerite Adventism was the true prophet okay but right here on in 1842 Protestant America fell that was the second angel's message but it wasn't the perfect fulfillment she says the second angel's message is progressive it's progressive not until the Sunday law in the United States is the the full the total fulfillment of Protestant America rejecting its role as the sixth kingdom of Bible prophecy you follow me it was the religious side of Protestant America that fell in 1842 the political side fell in the Ronald Reagan years and it's all finalized at the Sunday law the fall of Protestant America is progressive and here right here in 1844 this is the end of the 2520 that began with Manasseh and Manasseh represents a kingdom that falls progressively he's carried to Babylon he repents he comes back but it's already started the 2520 started and it there's no turning back now it's underway the beginning of this prophecy is illustrating the end of this prophecy because when you get to 1844 you have the United States the sixth kingdom of Bible prophecy that's paralleling Manasseh it's falling but it's a progressive fall and Manasseh represents someone whose kingdom is restored all right and this 2520 that's what it's emphasizing is the restoration the re-entering into the covenant the gathering that takes place here so brothers and sisters Manasseh it's it's number one it's one of the commencements that the angel Gabriel gave to William Miller and number two that the history of Manasseh is a perfect illustration of the prophetic history that's fulfilled here when this time prophecy is concluded and Jesus illustrates the end from the beginning I got one more point to make and we can be done let's move quickly ready the movement of the midnight cry I'll read a couple of these and I'll try to explain what I mean I appeal to the those who for many years have known the truth it is time to wake up the watchman I've expended my strength in giving the message that the Lord has given me the burden of our cities has rested so heavenly upon me that it has sometimes seemed that I should die the work in the cities is so essential is is the essential work for this time and it is now to be taken hold of in faith when the cities are worked as God would have them the result will be the setting in operation of a what a mighty movement of brothers and sisters what I'm saying here is this history here it was a mighty movement this was the Millerite movement that's what we call it and sister white says the great reformatory movements parallel one another this was a movement and we're going to show you that the latter rain time period revelation 18 is a movement that's what I'm trying to emphasize here is movement setting an operation of a mighty movement such as we have not yet witnessed okay may the Lord give wisdom to our brethren that they may know how to carry forward the work in harmony with his will with mighty power the cry is yet to be sounded in our large centers of population behold the bridegroom cometh go you out to meet him when the midnight cry is repeated at the end of the world when the parable of the ten virgins is repeated at the end of the world when the everlasting gospel is being accomplished at the end of the world when Joel is reaching its perfect fulfillment at the end of the world it will take place in a mighty movement all right next quote we've read this before but the angel who unites in the proclamation of the third angel's message is to lighten the whole earth with his glory a work of worldwide extent and unwanted power is herefore told the advent movement of 1840 to 44 was a glorious manifestation of the power of God this was a movement okay notice the last sentence there but these are to be exceeded by the mighty movement under the last warning of the third angel okay movement all right now notice this next long quote great controversy 342 to John were open scenes of deep and thrilling interest in the experience of the church he saw the position dangerous conflicts and final deliverance of God he records the closing messages which are to ripen the harvest of the earth what ripens the harvest the latter rain and the latter rain are what according to this messages what messages are they the messages in Revelation right either as sheaves or the heavenly garner or faggots for the fire of destruction subjects of vast importance were revealed to him especially for the last church that those who should turn from error to truth might be instructed concerning the perils and conflicts before them none need be in darkness regard to what is coming on the earth why then this widespread ignorance concerning an important part of the Holy Writ why this general reluctance to investigate its teachings it is the result of a studied effort of the Prince of darkness to conceal for men that which reveals his deceptions for this reason Christ the Revelator foreseeing the warfare that would be waged against the study of Revelation pronounced a blessing of all who should read hear and observe the words of this prophecy the work of God in the earth presents from age to age a striking similarity in every great Reformation or religious movement the principles of God's dealing with men are ever the same the important movements of the presence have their parallel in those of the past and the experience of the church in former ages has great lessons has lessons of great value for our own time no truth this is a pretty pretty profound statement big claim by sister right here no truth is more clearly taught in the Bible than that God by his Holy Spirit especially directs his servants on the earth in the great movements for carrying forward the work of salvation so these movements in sacred history are a primary theme okay that's how I read that okay now notice the last quote here from testimonies volume 9 and then we'll wrap this up in the visions of the night representations passed before me of a great reformatory movement among God's people many were praising God the sick were healed and other miracles were wrought a spirit of intercession was seen even as was manifested before the great day of Pentecost what was Pentecost a fulfillment of Joel hundreds and thousands were seen visiting families and opening before them the Word of God hearts were convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit and in a spirit of genuine conversion was manifest on every side doors were thrown open to the proclamation of the truth the world seemed to be lightened with the Holy Influence great blessings were ready received by the true and humble people of God I heard voices of thanksgiving and praise and there seemed to be a reformation as we witnessed in 1844 what was 1844 a fulfillment of Joel which is talking about the end of the world which is Joel this is these three histories now what am I saying here go go with me to Daniel 9 verse 24 Daniel 9 24 the last thing we'll read says 70 weeks are determined upon my people and upon my holy city and we'll I think tomorrow no Sabbath morning first thing we'll do with these 70 weeks are determined upon my people and upon my holy city to finish the transgression and to make an end of sins and make reconciliation for iniquity and then bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal up the vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy this 70 weeks begins when for 57 wins it in 34 AD okay when Stephen stone so there's many things in this verse that happened right what was one of the things that happened well at the end there it says the vision would be sealed up and this vision is in the history of Pentecost in that time period the vision that had directed them was the vision of Daniel 9 John the Baptist and Christ knew that they were operating upon fulfillment of the time prophecies of Daniel 9 right I don't know I'm soon John but it says here that the vision was sealed up and the Miller writes brothers and sisters sister white plainly says they were operating upon the same prophecy of Daniel chapter 9 okay there was a movement in Pentecost but at the end of the movement the vision was sealed up there was a movement in the Millerite history and at the end of the history it was sealed up now I think it was it was some right in here someone said that between 742 and 723 it's how many years 19 years okay 19 years let's get rid of some of these between 723 and 677 is what 46 years and between 1798 it's 46 what would happen if we added 19 years out here bring us to 1863 when the 1863 pioneer chart was printed and these truths were removed from it called the 1863 chart what happened in 1863 the movement ceased the movement ceased it became a church and in 1863 they came out with the chart that removes many of these truths and in January of 1864 James White prints an article rejecting the 2520 James White and you can get articles before 1864 when James White is supporting the 2520 this is one of the arguments against the 2520 brothers and sisters is that an accident 1946 this history 4619 this is when the vision was sealed up if you don't accept the 2520 you don't see some of the most profound observations that are right there in historical record and this is you may interpret it the way that I'm not intending it to be interpreted the Lord the Lord was dealing with this church I'm not saying that they the Adventist Church wasn't valid and it lost its way what I'm saying is that in every reform movement the way marks are always the same and what's what begins every reform movement a time at the end and what happens there's a prophecy that's unsealed and in order for a prophecy to be unsealed what has to happen somewhere along the line it has to get sealed up from 1863 onward these truths are getting sealed up so when you get to the time at the end at the end of the world for this reform movement in fulfillment of Joel the line of the tribe of Judah can unseal it and that's what what Daniel 924 is saying to in the same parallel history when this 490 years are over for ancient Israel it says to seal up the vision you get sealed up at the end of the reform movement shall we pray Heavenly Father we wish to be among the wise that run to and fro in in your Word understanding these truths that we can receive the increase of knowledge and shine as stars and bring many to righteousness we ask that you give us the discernment and the consecration to make that happen we ask that you'd open doors that we can share these truths with those that were will be willing to hear them and give us the the flint forehead that we will not get turned aside from those that will refuse to hear these things we understand that you are preparing to people right now for the soon coming Sunday law that you're going to lift up as an end sign we want to be among that number we want to participate in that work so we give you permission to do whatever it takes in each of our lives to make that a reality for us we thank you for being with us this evening we ask that you would lead us all over to this next meeting point tomorrow night in Jesus name Amen
