after. Now, Sister White is giving us in Selected Messages, book two, page 102, a good definition of prophecy. This is the definition I referred to a minute ago. She's speaking of the time when the Millerites were presenting their messages, and so she's speaking in the past tense about how they presented prophecy, and she says this, historical events showing the direct fulfillment of prophecy were set before the people, and prophecy was seen to be a figurative delineation of events leading down to the close of this earth's history. Prophecy was seen to be a delineation of events. A delineation means the events are set out on a line like we have here on this board. They're one after another, and these marks that you put up on this line are historical events, and they demonstrate the fulfillment of prophecy, and in the days of the Millerites, these historical events on this line that leads down to the end of the world was the falling of the stars. 1798, the papacy receives its deadly wound. 1844, the 2300-day prophecy comes to its end. 1843, the 1335-day prophecy comes to its end. They were demonstrating the fulfillment of prophecy based on historical events that took place, and this will also be seen to be what we're going to do as well here. We're going to be looking ahead in the future to the Sunday Law, but the Sunday Law will be a historical event, and there will be historical events that precede the Sunday Law and follow the Sunday Law that will be fulfillments of prophecy, and they have a specific sequence, and in Adventism today, when we begin to look at these way marks, you'll find that different understandings of what place in the flow of events these different way marks take can be found throughout Adventism, and this is unfortunate because Sister White's very clear about the sequence. If you take the time and trouble to go pull the information together that she has on the different way marks, and then as a student of prophecy should, just bring it together, and it's very simple and very clear. Now in Testimonies, Volume 5, page 452, it is a very important principle that we should understand a historical event, a fulfillment of prophecy that takes place before the Sunday Law. So this is an event we should look for in our time, and I believe that this is underway as we speak. God has revealed what is to take place in the last days, that His people may be prepared to stand against the tempest of opposition and wrath. Those who have been warned of the events before them are not to
