or the age to come, is a false doctrine that has been spawned by Catholicism. It's one of the main teachings of end-time events to Catholicism, there will be a thousand years of peace. But it ties into their other understandings of prophecy and you'll find that prophetic interpretation as Catholicism understands it, places the focus of end-time events in the literal city of Jerusalem. True prophetic understanding takes the names and places and geographies of the Bible at the end of the world and gives them a spiritual application, not a literal application. You have two schools of prophetic understanding, more than two, but two primary schools of prophetic understanding in the world today. One that takes the things of the Bible and prophetically applies them in a spiritual worldwide application and one that attempts to place them in a literal application and that is Catholicism and you'll notice here in this quote we looked at, that Sister White tells us that those that are following after the Catholic doctrine of the temporal millennium will also be looking to the literal old city of Jerusalem and you'll find that that is true today with those that are believing the Catholic position on the temporal millennium. They're expecting end-time events to be built around the city of Jerusalem. Now here's where I got out on the limb in the next two quotes and you'll see what spawned the study that we're going to follow the rest of the day. In the book Maranatha, and we're just going to read the final few sentences there, I'll give you a lead into this paragraph, what's being described here in this paragraph on the page three of your notes under the subtitle, this was the temporal millennium, is a time period when the righteous and wicked are on the earth and the wicked are taunting the righteous saying it's obvious that you're wrong and we're right, the angels of God are with us and look at how poor and lost you are as a group. This is what Sister White's describing here and you could read the first several sentences and see what I mean, but if you go up to the sentence that begins at the bottom of the paragraph about the middle of it, it says they declared the wicked, they, the wicked declared that they had the truth, that miracles were among them, that angels from heaven talked with them and walked with them, that great power and signs and wonders were performed among them, and this was the temporal millennium, which they had been expecting so long. The whole world was converted and in harmony with the Sunday law and this little feeble people stood out in defiance of the laws of the land and the laws of God and claimed to be the only ones right on the earth. What you can understand from this passage at minimum is this.
