look at a response made to the Shepherd Rods movement, where the General Conference teaches that in response to them, that probation closes for everyone at the same time. And I'm not supportive of Shepherd's Rod at all. They are so often darkness, it's unbelievable. But here we see the unfaithful servants being cut down at the time of slaughter. This is one of the concepts that really exposes them for being in error, because they believe that at the time period when God's people are sealed, which is the Sunday law, that the unfaithful are going to be destroyed. But Sister White is clear that they're cut down at the time of slaughter. And in another place, speaking on this same theme, she says they're cut down during the general destruction. The general destruction would take place in the seven last plagues. So this is one of the areas that a little bit impacts our consideration of some of the false ideas of these end time events. But what I want you to see in this passage, and we're going to read the rest of this paragraph, is it's talking about as judgment passes upon the house of God, there's faithful and there's unfaithful servants. Now let's pick this passage back up. And that which was committed to their trust, committed to the unfaithful servant's trust, is taken away from them. Their earthly treasure is then swept away, and they have lost all. And the crowns they might have worn, had they been faithful, are put upon the heads of those saved by the faithful servants, whose means were constantly in the use for God. I want you to see there's a transition that's being identified here, and we're going to look at it in another study more closely. But in Adventism, as judgment passes upon the house of God, there's faithful and unfaithful, and the unfaithful are going to lose the crown they could have had, had they been faithful. And those crowns are destined to go to those that come in at the 11th hour. And when you understand this changeover that takes place during the judgment of the living, you begin to see that the judgment is progressive and that Adventists, the house of God, are the first to be unimpacted during the judgment time, during the judgment of the living. Testimonies volume 5, page 212-213. And at that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of his thy people, and there shall be a time of trouble such as never was, since there was a nation even to that same time. And at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book. When this time of trouble comes, every case is decided. There is no longer probation, no longer mercy for the impenitent. The seal of the living God is placed upon his people. Now, there comes a time when human probation closes all together, but the close of human probation
