to 45, and verse 40 begins at the time of the end, and in Great Controversy, page 356, Sister White calls the time of the end 1798. And this, of course, we've looked at already in this study. This is consistent with the Prophet Daniel's identification of the time of the end. The time of the end, the appointed time, these are terms that the book of Daniel identifies itself as the conclusion of a time prophecy. And the time of the end, here in verse 40, is the end of a time prophecy that must be understood in connection with the context of the verses, and these verses, the last power that's identified in these verses, in the flow of these verses, that has a time prophecy associated with it, is identified in verse 31, the abomination that maketh desolate. In verse 31, the last phrase, verse 31's describing the transition from pagan to papal Rome, and in the very final phrase of verse 31, we see the papacy identified as taking its position on the throne of the earth as the fifth kingdom of Bible prophecy, and we know that the previous chapters of Daniel identified that when the papacy comes to the place where it takes control of the world, that it would rule the world for 1260 years. So, the power that's under discussion here, in this last 15 verses of Daniel, is the papacy, and the time prophecy associated with the papacy is the 1260 year time period. So, when we come to verse 40, and it says at the time of the end, the time prophecy, by context, it's under consideration, is the 1260 year time prophecy, and it came to its conclusion in 1798. So, when Sister White says in the Great Controversy that the time of the end is 1798, she is simply agreeing with the book of Daniel itself. So, we find that verse 40 begins in 1798, and these verses proceed right up till the close of human probation. So, obviously, this passage of Scripture unfolds during our, begins prior to our lifetime, those of us that are hearing this presentation, but it comes to its conclusion during our lifetime, because what's ahead of us is the close of human probation. We're in between those two periods. Back to verse 40, the time of the end, 1798, the King of the South is going to push against the King of the North. In this series of presentations, this being number nine, that we've been sending out, we send out one tape per month, and along with a newsletter, and in the newsletters that
