the 1798 time period that ruled over spiritual Babylon would be the king of the north and we know that this power was the papacy and sure enough in verse 40 the first phrase what it's being said is that in the 1798 time period atheistic France was going to begin a war against the papacy and this is the very heart of Bible prophecy and in that phrase there at the time of the end when you understand that the time of the end for Daniel means the end of a time prophecy and you understand that it's been the papacy under discussion from verse 31 onward it's saying at and it's telling us in this first phrase just exactly what historical event is going to bring this 1260 year time period of the papacy to rule the world to a conclusion it's the the deadly moon being delivered by France and taking the Pope captive now in Adventism we understand more than most about the deadly wound in Revelation 13 Revelation 13 is one of the you know the pieces that make up the the message of Adventism but I have found that in Adventism even though we're familiar with the phrase the deadly wound many of us don't understand what that this implies in 1798 the king of the South atheistic France began a war against the papacy it delivered the deadly wound and the deadly wound was the fact that the papacy was no longer able to be a geopolitical power ruling the world it does not mean that the papacy ceased to be a church and I'm making that point for this reason I make it often the deadly wound is identifying when the papacy ceased to be a geopolitical power which in Bible prophecy is a beast in 1798 the papacy ceased to be a beast of Bible prophecy but it continued to be a church it continued to be a woman of Bible prophecy and the different powers that are found in Bible prophecy have their own characteristics under themselves and one of the characteristics of the papal power is that it is both a beast and a woman and in 1798 it ceased to be the beast and Bible prophecy of Revelation 13 Revelation 17 and even Daniel 11 tell us the story of how once again in the near future the papacy is once again going to come to rule the world and once again come to be a beast of Bible prophecy this is the mystery of the woman and the beast in Revelation 17 so this first phrase of Daniel verse 40 of Daniel 11 is
