to the Pope. So as the ability of pagan Rome to rule the world is ceasing, the Emperor of Rome starts making gestures to the church leadership in the city of Rome and giving them the the position of the corrector of heretics, the head of the church, and then immediately thereafter the suppression of the scriptures takes place and this is what the indignation against the Holy Covenant here in verse 32 in verse 30 is, so shall he do he shall return and have intelligence with them that forsake the Holy Covenant. The intelligence with them that forsake the Holy Covenant is the the authority that he begins to that the the leadership of Roman Constantinople begins to turn over to the leadership of the church in Rome. Verse 31, an arm shall stand on his part and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength. Uriah Smith correctly identifies this sanctuary of strength as the city of Rome. This was the sanctuary of strength for the Roman Empire when they moved from the city of Rome to Constantinople they no longer had their strength. Their strength was when they kept the city of Rome as their stronghold that they would forecast their devices from up in verse 24 and Uriah Smith will tell you whether you view this polluting of the sanctuary of strength as the removal of the capital from Rome to Constantinople or the barbarians coming down out of northern Europe and conquering the city of Rome. Either way, the sanctuary of strength is polluted and the arms that stand on his part are beginning to describe the history of how the nations of the former pagan Roman Empire that disintegrated into ten horns as we know from Daniel 7 as those nations begin to turn away from professing to be pagans and begin to profess to be Catholics and they bring their military might to the aid of the church in Rome and begin to work to remove resistance to place Rome, the Roman Church, upon the throne of the earth. This is the history, this is the dynamics that's being covered in these verses and it says they shall take away the daily.
